Great Sprinting and Jumping
Outstanding athlete for Cornwall at the South West Schools Athletic Championships held on Saturday 15th June at Exeter was Intermediate boy Sam Breerton (Wadebridge) who set a Championship Best Performance in the high jump of 2.10m.
Micho Tao (H.Davy) continued his great sprinting winning both the 100m & 200m in the junior boys and anchoring the relay to a superb win. His 100m time was a new county record time of 11.19 and the relay team of Nate Robins (Penrice), Connell McCarthy (Saltash) & Joe Wheeler (Launceston) equalled the county record of 46.37. Joe Wheeler set a new county record in the 300m
There was an England Schools entry time for Choire Lister (Penair) in the Intermediate girls 1500m Steeplechase to add those athletes already qualified.
