Coronavirus – COVID-19
Arising from current UK Government advice, England Athletics have advised that all face-to-face activity such as club training sessions, events, competitions, club committee and face-to-face meetings, athlete camps, running groups and social events should be suspended until at least the end of April.
Please refer to the Calendar of Events to see competitions that will be affected.
As you will be aware, the situation is fluid and can/ will change on a daily basis. We will endeavour to keep our athletics community informed but please check with your usual local official contact and follow this link to the England Athletics website for latest updates.

CORNWALL SCHOOLS COMBINED EVENTS CHAMPIONSHIPS & TRIALS.
As this event was planned for Sunday 26th April at Carn Brea this falls into the period where UK Athletics has banned all competitions and will therefore be cancelled.
Should the SW Schools Combined Events take place at Yeovil Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th June and you feel you have an athlete the county could consider for selection please contact secretary Mo Pearson by the original closing date of 17th April.
ENGLISH SCHOOLS TRACK & FIELD CUP 1 ST ROUND.
This event due to take place at Carn Brea Tuesday 5th & Wednesday 6th May is highly unlikely to go ahead. 21st March update: The E.S.A.A. Honorary Secretary has confirmed that this event is cancelled.
CORNWALL SCHOOLS ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS.
This event due to take place at Par Track Saturday 13th June. Again we are on hold regards this taking place. Entries will be sent to schools, colleges & academies in the hopes that the event can go ahead. I realise with schools closed for the foreseeable future this may be a problem.
YEAR 7 & 8 CHAMPIONSHIPS.
This event due to take place Monday 18th May (Monday 1st June) at Par track. Again this event is in doubt. Hopefully entry forms will be sent to you from Truro College if it is to go ahead.
26th March 2020
Year 7 & 8 Championships.
Sadly we will have to cancel this event planned for Monday 18th May with the latest restrictions for athletics competitions. With schools still with no return date even the alternative date of Monday 1st June would not be possible with pupils not able to practice or schools select teams.
South West Schools Athletic Championships Saturday 20th June at Exeter.
Again the South West Schools have reluctantly agreed to cancel this event with counties highly unlikely to be able to select teams for this event.
County Schools Championships Saturday 13th June at Par Track.
With schools having no definite return date it seems highly unlikely that we would be able to hold this event. There has been a suggestion of the end of June if schools return 1st June but am not expecting this to be the case.

All England Schools Athletic Championships Friday 10th & Saturday 11th July, Manchester.
Sadly the All England Schools Athletic Association have had to cancel the above. With no idea of when or if schools will return this summer there seems no other option open to them.
2nd April 2020
Cornwall Schools Athletic Championships Saturday 13th June at Par Track St. Austell.
It will come as no surprise that we will be cancelling the Championships for this year.
Hopefully everything should be up and running for the summer of 2021!!
